The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila has launched a program to build a ‘Hostel’ in Dar es Salaam and said the program will start with female hostels to be built in each district and emphasized that doing Dar es Salaam will support the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure of education in the country.
Chalamila has taught teachers that they are responsible for the destinies of their students, so they should help them achieve their dreams by not being harsh but by building the ability to be creative in various things.
Chalamila has given seven instructions to the district heads and directors, including starting the construction of the Hostels by doing “Fund Raising” to get money or building materials to increase the funds for the construction.
He has said that each Council should draw its own map, district heads to form teams to monitor CSR, Dar es Salaam region to do a big “Fund Raising” for all stakeholders and education partners to support the plan by donating.
He thanked the education stakeholders who supported the program including TCRA, ALAF, TPA, BAKHRESA GROUP, MO DEWJI FOUNDATION, NMB, PEPSI, CRDB and NBC.
RAS Ms. Rehema Madenge said the construction of those Hostels is very important for students especially in the City of Dar es Salaam because transportation is a problem that leads students to spend a lot of time on the road and thus lack time to study and rest, if there are Hostels they will help a lot and increase success.
District heads and directors have praised the efforts of the Dar es Salaam regional government and promised to work on all the instructions given and ready for implementation.
