Special research report – RC ChalamilaOur country is in the process of implementing various statistical studies including the study of economic and social activities, the agricultural study of the year 2022/23 which is also being held in Dar es Salaam
The study of economic and social activities involves all activities/offices that work in a building or permanent buildings in Tanzania
Those activities or offices are those that are registered with any legally recognized Authority, in this sense this research will use information from the databases of various Authorities recognized by the Government as well as passing through all the Areas of Mainland Tanzania with the aim of revitalizing some information but also reaching others that are not in the database
The purpose of this study is:-
- Finding the number of economic and social activities that exist in the formal Sector in Tanzania Mainland
- Obtaining Sample Key for other economic and social studies
- To be used as a guide for various researchers
Information collected includes:-
- Activity Name
2.Location/Location - Postal Address
- Telephone number
- Main activities
- Status of Ownership
- Year of Activity/Office to start working
- Month and Year of registration Activity/ office
- The number of employees by how
- Total income per year
How the research is done:-
This research is done by using the investigators in all areas ie villages, townships and streets in mainland Tanzania who have official IDs of the National Statistics Office. These investigators arrive in each area of economic and social activities and talk to the person concerned to obtain the information mentioned above

The National Statistics Office in collaboration with TAMISEMI and the Ministry of Industry and Trade would like to request all businessmen, private and public institutions to cooperate with inquirers who arrive at their Activities or offices
Similarly, NBS would like to assure all stakeholders that in accordance with the Statistics Law CHAPTER 351 all information collected will be CONFIDENTIAL and will be used for statistical purposes
Importance of Information
This information will help to find a frame that will be used in various studies that will also be used to conduct detailed economic analysis, such as measuring productivity in production, evaluating economic trends and in the creation of policies using correct information and correct decisions
This type of research was conducted in the country in 2015, so the available information is out of date, so it is important to get current information to enable the Government and other stakeholders to plan, implement and monitor the effectiveness of various plans and programs in the relevant sector for the benefit of the relevant sector and The nation as a whole
