Muhimbili and South Korea to bring about a Health revolution in the country

South Korea has shown its intention to cooperate with the Muhimbili National Hospital to improve the availability of modern diagnostic medical equipment with the aim of bringing about positive changes in the provision of health services.

Chairman of the Institute of Global Cooperation Committee in South Korea Mr. Jinil Kim said this, during a meeting with the leadership of Muhimbili aimed at consulting on how to collaborate to bring development in the health sector, especially in terms of medical equipment.

Mr. Kim has explained that the investment in the equipment will go hand in hand with the capacity building of professionals in the best way to use the equipment and how to repair it so that it can be used correctly and last for a long time.

“60 years ago, South Korea was very behind in development, so we believe that if you work hard and cooperate well, I see Tanzania in the next 30 years will have made a very big step in development” explained Mr. Kim

Earlier speaking in the meeting, Acting Executive Director Muhimbili National Hospital Dr. Julieth Magandi has said that Tanzania has developed a good partnership with South Korea since the days of the late Father of the Nation Mwl. Julius Nyerere and until now that relationship continues to grow.

He added that South Korea has been helping Tanzania in the implementation of various projects including the construction of the Mloganzila Hospital building, supporting medical equipment and continuing to build the capacity of local professionals.

“We have no doubts about the equipment from South Korea because most of the equipment used in MNH Mloganzila is from Korea, they are still helping us in different areas so we appreciate their contribution” said Dr. Magandi

Dr. Magandi thanked South Korea for showing interest in helping Muhimbili and explained that MNH is ready to cooperate with them to ensure that the goal of improving the health sector is achieved with great success.
