The Governor of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila, has congratulated UBA Bank for its innovation in establishing banking services for people with visual impairments, popularly known as the blind.
Launching the service yesterday at the Kijitonyama Bank Branch in Kinondoni District in Dar es Salaam, Chalamila said that the innovation is unique and is the first bank in Tanzania and that it will help the blind to access banking services without any inconvenience and congratulated the bank for reaching out to the group that important.
He asked the Bank’s management to continue to be innovative, to expand the scope of the Bank’s market by adding branches, to have good staff who will serve people with disabilities, to have an interpreter and to continue to provide friendly services to that special group.

The Chief Executive of UBA Bank, Gbenga Makinde has said that UBA currently has four branches, the Bank’s mission is to provide the best banking services to Tanzanians, especially the residents of Dar es Salaam, taking into account the needs of all groups.
It should be known that the six-phase government under Samia Suluhu Hassan has been giving priority to special groups in this country by improving their services in various fields, including the economic empowerment of these groups, so UBA Bank has gone in line with the President’s mission where through this service now people with disabilities not seeing that they have been given a great opportunity to do banking transactions.
