High Bridge, environmental education is the solution to floods in Jangwani Dar – Government

The government has continued to urge the people living in the valleys to move and order the relevant authorities to remove the mud and garbage in the desert area due to the blockage of the bridge and to create a large high bridge that will be a permanent solution.

The order was issued yesterday by the Minister of Construction Innocent Bashungwa, Minister of OR-COMMISSION Mohamed Mchengerwa together with the Regional Head of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila when they made a joint visit to inspect the Jangwani area that has been damaged by the rains that continue to fall.

The leaders arrived and saw that the Bridge was blocked by mud and a lot of garbage, thus causing trouble for those using the bridge due to water not being able to pass and causing flooding which made it difficult for vehicles and pedestrians to pass.

“We as a Region have the responsibility to look at what we do every day of God, one of them is to build a bridge so that water can continue to flow easily”, said Chalamila.

Chalamila has said that in order to find a permanent solution, it is necessary to increase the depth of the Bridge, to provide education on changing the country’s behavior and environmental sanitation education for the community due to the illegal disposal of garbage and bottles.

“It is true that they bought the plots, they built the houses and moved. We ask and advise you to take the responsibility of leaving if you think the water can have an effect, but for those who argue, I have no objection. You will live with the same water, but if you die, you will bring loss to the nation and your family. ” he said

The Minister of Construction, Bashungwa has asked the regional manager of TANROAD to ensure that the garbage and mud that filled the area of the bridge is removed so that the water can pass each other and not spread and pass over the bridge.

Likewise, the Minister of Commission, Mohamed Mchengerwa has encouraged and asked the heads of Regions and Districts to come out of their offices and look at the effects and problems experienced by their citizens especially during this rainy season and insist that they solve those problems and not just sit in the offices waiting for information to be delivered.
