Deputy Minister of Energy, Mrs. Judith Kapinga said that the Government through the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) in February, 2022 entered into a cooperation agreement with the Zanzibar Petroleum Development Corporation (ZPDC) through which various issues have been being addressed to develop the Sector including the exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Mrs. Kapinga said this, on April 14, 2025 in parliament in Dodoma while responding to a question by the Member of Parliament for Kwahani, Mr. Khamis Yussuf Mussa Mkenge who asked when the Government will benefit Zanzibar in the use of Gas Energy so that it can be used in vehicles.
“Mr. Speaker, in this cooperation, the issue of delivering gas to Zanzibar is one of the main agendas. Both parties are still looking at the best way to deliver natural gas to Zanzibar so that it can be available at affordable prices for consumers”, said, Mrs. Kapinga
