Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila has asked the contractor to make an extension of the Morogoro Road from Ubungo Makaa to Kimara to accelerate the construction of the road to reduce traffic congestion and queue for citizens.
Mr. Chalamila said this, April 10,2025 in Dar es Salaam on the second day of his visit to Ubungo District where he visited various development projects in Ubungo State.
While on the road expansion project in the Kimara area he said the project is an important link to economic growth so it is important to complete it on time.
Mr. Chalamila has used the opportunity, to assure the public about the advent of motorcycle vehicles that have been complained by the public where he said the government has prepared a plan to get enough cars but also to have more than one service provider instead of relying on UDART which will help improve the service.
Ubungo District Commissioner, Mr. Lazarus Twange has stated the Government’s goal to decide to extend the road to reduce traffic congestion and queue while, Tanroad Engineer in Dar es Salaam, Mrs. Beatrice Rweyemamu while reporting on the project explained how the challenge of congestion is affecting citizens if the project is delayed in time.
However, the contractor, who is building the road, said among the challenges of construction of the road was to be busy for hours at work but they were going to accelerate by working 24 hours.
On the visit, Mr. Chalamila has visited the Msewe Primary School project, Makurumla Health Center and the construction of Kimara Road to Ubungo and later held a public meeting with the public at TP Sinza Areas.
At a public meeting, Mr. Chalamila has listened to the concerns of the people and the immediate response to the response, including the nuisance of open areas, sewage and health care challenges for the elderly.
