Tanzania and Canada to collaborate to develop mining sector

𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨,π‚πšπ§πšπšπš: Canada’s Minister for International Development, Mr. Ahmed Hussein and Tanzania’s Minister for Minerals, Mr. Anthony Mavunde have held talks on various issues to improve relations between the two countries, especially in the area of ​​capacity building for experts and miners and the use of modern mining technology.

The talks were held yesterday in Toronto, Canada and were attended by the Tanzanian Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Joseph Sokoine, along with experts from both Ministries.

Giving preliminary information, Minister Ahmed Hussein commended Tanzania under the leadership of the President, Dr. Samia Hassan, for the number that has created a favorable environment for the growth of the mining sector in the country and that Canada will continue to strengthen its relations with Tanzania, especially in the area of ​​capacity building for experts and miners in the proper use of mining technology and mineral processing.

“We have had educational development projects in Tanzania, so through technical training colleges it will be easy to come up with specialized training to build the capacity of Tanzanian citizens, especially women and youth, to participate fully in the entire mining sector chain”, said Hussein

Minister Anthony Mavunde thanked Canada for the great cooperation it provides in economic and social development in Tanzania and also noted that the presence of large mining companies from Canada has greatly stimulated economic development through various opportunities arising from such investment.

Tanzania currently has a program aimed at facilitating the full participation of women and youth in the mining sector, so building their skills in the entire mining sector value chain will stimulate rapid growth in the mining sector.

Technical Training Colleges can be used to provide specialized training for the relevant community due to the type of mining activities in the relevant area.

Tanzania will provide sufficient cooperation to Canada in the implementation of this productive program for the Tanzanian National workforce.

Providing additional information, Ambassador Joseph Sokoine has invited Canadian Social Security funds to invest in Tanzania in various areas including infrastructure construction and the mining sector.
