Muhimbili National Hospital-Mloganzila has launched a special dental implant surgery camp using a modern method for patients who have lost their teeth due to various reasons.

Speaking during the camp, MNH-Mloganzila Oral and Dental Health Specialist, Dr. Peter Shempemba said the patients who will be served in the camp include those who underwent surgery late last year and those who are coming for the first time.
He said the first group are those who had root canals in the first phase and this period will have tooth implants and the other group are those who are having root canals for the first time.
“This implant is of high quality, the teeth we have for implants are no different from natural teeth because they are implanted directly into the jawbone and last for a long time, they cannot fall out easily, a person will be able to chew properly as usual” said, Dr. Shempemba.
The camp, which is being held in collaboration with local experts and a specialist in Maxillofacial Surgery from Wochhardt Hospitals, Dr. Chirag Desai, will be held over a seven-day period from February 20 to February 26, 2025, where approximately 45 patients will undergo transplantation.
