Deputy Minister of Energy, Mrs. Judith Kapinga has stated the Government’s determination to ensure that citizens have reliable and predictable electricity for social and developmental activities.
Mrs. Kapinga said this on January 03, 2025 in parliament in Dodoma while responding to a question by the Member of Parliament for Lushoto, Mr. Shabani Shekilindi who wanted to know when the Government would eliminate the challenge of power outages in Lushoto District by putting in place a permanent solution.
“We will monitor for a week to understand what the challenge of power outages in Lushoto District is, I assure you, Member of Parliament, if there are repairs, we will ensure they are completed quickly”, she stressed, Mrs. Kapinga
Responding to a question by the Member of Parliament for Nkasi South, Mr. Vicent Mbogo who wanted to know the availability of electricity in Msamba-Masokolo Village, Lyapinda, Izinga and Lyele and in the Sub-districts of Kisenga and Lupata, Mrs. Kapinga said Nkasi District has a total of 90 villages, all of which have been provided with electricity, including Lyele and Lyapinda villages.
She said that Lupata Subdistrict located in Lyapinda Village will receive electricity through the 15 MP Subdistricts project to be implemented by a contractor called M/s STEG International Services Ltd who has completed the surveying and design stages.
She added that the assessment of Kisenga Subdistrict has been completed and the Subdistrict will be provided with electricity through the Subdistricts Project (HEP IIB).
