The Bank of Tanzania (BoT) has launched a campaign to educate Tanzanians on development loans and their safety.
A statement issued by BoT online said that the campaign is called ‘Zinduka, Usiumizwe, Kopa kwa Mandeleo’, ‘Wake Up, Don’t Get Hurt, Lend with Purpose’ and has started providing education in various areas in Dar es Salaam on January 30, 2025.
The statement said that the campaign is focused on educating the public about safe loans that focus on using lenders licensed by the Bank of Tanzania, reviewing loan terms and conditions before signing and receiving a loan as well as borrowing for economic and development purposes.
The public education, which will last for a period of one month, is being held in various places including markets, bus stands, auctions and other open areas where citizens come out to gain knowledge and understanding of various issues related to Safe Loans.
Among the areas that have already been reached by this education are Kinondoni, Magomeni, Mwananyamala, Makumbusho, Kigogo, Mburahati and Mabibo.
Other areas are Kawe, Tegeta, Wazo, Madale. The schedule will continue with other areas to be announced.
