The coach of Man City, Pep Guardiola has said that the club is in danger of missing the chance to participate in the European Champions League next season.
Man City has an impressive record in the major club championships in Europe with status and wealth as it has so far qualified and participated for the 14th time in a row.
The current fear is the position of the team for the next season of 2025-26 as it ranks seventh in the English Premier League (EPL) after playing 17 matches.
In the procedures of the Union of European Football Associations (Uefa), England has a high status with five chances to participate in the championship next season and with the current EPL position, Man City has no chance.
“When I said this before, people laughed, they said that qualifying for the Champions League is not a great success, but I know that because it has been happening to clubs in this country, they dominated football for many years but later failed to qualify for the Champions League,” said Pep.
Pep added by saying that one team that has been in the Champions League for many years is Man City, but what is clear at the moment is that they are in a dangerous situation.
Man City today, Thursday December 26, 2024 will host Everton and will be followed by an away match against Leicester to be played on December 29 and on January 4 they will start the new year 2025 with a match against West Ham.
All the three teams playing with Man City are also not good, so it might be a good start for the defending EPL champions to show their usual quality for the past several seasons.
