President, Dr. Samia apologizes for the Truck and Coaster accident that happened in Mikese

**He instructs the police force to set up a system to reward drivers’ statistics.

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has offered condolences to the Regional Commissioner, Morogoro, Mr. Adam Malima, brothers, relatives and friends who lost their brothers in an accident that happened on the night of December 18, this year and caused the death of 15 people.

The information released yesterday and circulated on the internet said that the accident happened on the night of December 18, 2024, resulting in the death of 15 of our brothers in a road accident that involved a cargo truck and a Coaster passenger car in Mikese area, Morogoro – Dar Highway. es Salaam (A7 Highway).

“I offer my condolences to the family, Morogoro Regional Commissioner Mr. Adam Malima, brothers, relatives and friends. I pray to God that these brothers of ours rest in peace, and that all the injured recover quickly”, said the statement.

The statement said that in addition to my call to the public and the instructions I gave to the Police and security agencies on December 4 this year regarding increasing attention and supervision in Road Safety Laws, today I have instructed the Police to have a Driver’s License system that will be able to reduce points ( points) drivers who make mistakes that endanger safety and life on the road.

This system should keep information (records) electronically on the conduct of drivers’ mistakes on the road statistically, and then be used to decide whether they should continue to have driver’s licenses or not.

This is to improve the current system in which the driver often only pays a fine and is left on the road.

Human life is irreplaceable, and we must continue to take joint and effective measures to ensure that it is protected with all our might.

These measures include ensuring that fire engines that enter the road have the qualifications and criteria to use the road, and those who drive them have the qualifications, criteria and records to continue doing so.
