Let’s help the government train Tanzanians in business skills – Rostam

**Rostam - "I haven't come from heaven, I come from village"

A prominent businessman in Tanzania, Mr. Rostam Aziz has raised an important debate on empowering small business owners by calling for the establishment of regional training courses to teach Tanzanians how to run successful businesses, access credit and expand their business.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam yesterday, during a “Roundtable” meeting of Tanzanian investors and businessmen, Mr. Rostam stressed that the responsibility of uplifting small entrepreneurs is not the government’s alone.

He said the government is making good policies, but we as the private sector must work together to guide our fellow Tanzanians towards successful businesses.

Mr. Rostam shared his personal journey as proof that anyone can succeed in business.

He revealed that he grew up in a modest environment in Nzega, Tabora and started wearing shoes for the first time at the age of nine while attending a village school.

“If I can do it, many Tanzanians can too,” he said confidently.

THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION AND BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

Mr. Rostam stressed the need for smart businesspeople to partner with local entrepreneurs through training, mentoring and access to business opportunities.

He noted that many small entrepreneurs face many challenges such as lack of marketing and credit education, often leading to bankruptcy before achieving their goals.

“There is a need to provide them with knowledge and sound business strategies so that they can expand their activities without fear of bankruptcy, when we work together, we build our national economy together”, Mr. Rostam stressed.

NATIONAL CONVERSATIONS

Rostam’s statement has been received with mixed reactions from stakeholders in the business sector. Many have praised his efforts to promote the empowerment of small entrepreneurs, recognizing that the program can boost the local economy and reduce poverty.

However, some have expressed concerns about the implementation of this idea, calling for solid planning and good supervision to ensure that these seminars and training sessions reach their targets.

A MESSAGE OF HOPE

Rostam Aziz’s message demonstrates a true commitment to changing the business landscape in Tanzania. His personal story is an inspiring lesson to all Tanzanians that, with hard work and the right knowledge, everyone has the potential to succeed.

With the introduction of these seminars, Tanzania can witness an increase in small-scale entrepreneurs who will be key pillars in strengthening the country’s economy. It is clear that collaboration between government, the private sector and citizens will remain the foundation for sustainable development.
