EJAT 2023 award winners, MCL carries many awards

There were 1,135 reviewed works, 72 writers were nominated for first, second, third and overall awards.In 72 writers, 45 are men equal to 62.5 percent and 27 are women equal to 37.5 percent.

14 nominees equal to 19 percent come from TV, 13 nominees equal to 18 percent come from the Internet, 20 nominees equal to 28 percent come from Radio, 25 nominees equal to 35 percent come from newspapers. 20 groups competed for this is the 15th time to give excellence awards to journalists.

The Citizen journalist, Hellen Nachilongo, has been honored with the esteemed EJAT Award in the category of Environmental Conservation and Water Sources. Hellen received the award today, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at a grand ceremony held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.

The Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT), organized by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), recognizes outstanding achievements in journalism, and Hellen’s exemplary work in environmental reporting has earned her this well-deserved accolade.

The Citizen journalist, Haika Kimaro, has secured the prestigious EJAT Award in the category of Agriculture and Agribusiness Reporting for Online Media.

The award was presented today, Saturday, September 28, 2024, during the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) ceremony at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.

Organized by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), EJAT honors exceptional journalism, and Haika’s insightful coverage of the agriculture sector has earned her this distinguished recognition.

The Citizen journalist, Jacob Mosenda, has been named the winner of the prestigious EJAT Award for Investigative Journalism.

His outstanding investigative work was recognized today, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) ceremony, held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.

Organized by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), this accolade highlights Jacob’s dedication to uncovering vital truths and delivering impactful stories that make a difference.

The Citizen journalist, Julius Maricha, has achieved remarkable success by winning two prestigious EJAT Awards.

He was honored with the Award for Reporting on Child Development, as well as the award for Cultural and Sports Reporting.

The accolades were presented today, Saturday, September 28, 2024, during the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) ceremony at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.

Organized by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), these awards celebrate exceptional contributions to journalism, and Julius’s outstanding work in both child development and cultural reporting has earned him this significant recognition. Out of the 17 awards presented today, journalists from Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL) triumphed by taking home an impressive 10 awards. This outstanding achievement highlights MCL’s commitment to excellence in journalism and the exceptional talent within its team.
