4,843 female science students have reported to the top Science schools

Minister of State, Office of the President Regional Administrations and Local Governments Mr. Mohamed Mchengerwa has said that until yesterday 4,843 female students have finished report on Regional Girls’ Science Schools that have been built in all 26 regions of Mainland Tanzania Mr. Mchengerwa has said that, during the launch of the Girls’ School of Science Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan of Ruvuma Region built in Namtumbo Council.

Giving information to President Samia at the launch, Mr. Mchengerwa said that the construction of the schools was his instruction since he came into power and that they have been completed and 4,843 students have already reported and started their studies.

Mr. Mchengerwa explained that the number of students in the first form is 1,596, the second form is 139, the fifth form is 2,355 and the sixth form is 753.

He has explained Sh. 108 billion have been given to all regions for the construction of those schools where each region has received Sh. 4.1 billion for the construction of all important school infrastructure and some additional Sh. 350 million for the completion of the playground.

Namtumbo District Council Director, Mr. Philemon Magesa has said Shs. 4.6 billion have been used to build 22 classrooms, 8 dormitories, 3 teachers’ houses (2 in 1), Principal’s House, Matron’s House, IT room, Library, Court, fence as well as completing the work small

He added that the school has the capacity to accommodate 1,200 students and so far there are 548 students including those with special needs.
