Deputy Minister Office of the President, TAMISEMI, Mrs. Zainabu Katimba has given an opinion to the people to actively support the National Strategy for the Use of Clean Energy for Cooking which is an Agenda established by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Hasan
“Times have changed, let’s support the efforts of the President, Dr. Samia Hassan in the use of clean energy for cooking by using clean energy such as gas, electricity and others”, he said, Mrs. Katimba
He added that Tanzanians should be part of the Clean Energy Strategy and demonstrate practical changes by moving away from the use of unsafe and unsafe energy.
He emphasized, the use of clean energy for cooking will significantly reduce the damage to the environment where statistics show that every year approximately 469,000 hectares of forest are burnt due to various human activities including the use of unclean energy for cooking (wood and charcoal).
“If we use Clean Energy for Cooking, we will not only save the environment but also people’s health, as approximately 33,000 people lose their lives due to the use of unclean energy, this is due to the kitchen environment of smoke, heavy air that causes effects in the respiratory system” , added Mrs. Katimba
Regarding the view that the gas used in homes for cooking is explosive, Madam. Katimba has said that the gas is safe and reliable for the relevant use.
