Send the youth to school – Prime Minister

Prime Minister, Mr. Kassim Majaliwa has asked parents to make sure their young people send them to secondary schools because without education they cannot go far.

“My fellow parents, make sure your children go to school. We cannot get far if our young people do not go to school, we are building schools everywhere, we want all areas to have schools,” he said.

Mr. Majaliwa who is also the Member of Parliament for Ruangwa made the statement yesterday while speaking to residents of Mtondo village, Nambiranje Ward, Ruangwa in Lindi region.

Explaining the progress achieved due to the efforts of the sixth phase Government, the Prime Minister said Ruangwa District has made progress in the education, water and health sectors compared to the situation in previous years.

He said the district has three schools for girls only which are Liuguru, Ruangwa Girls and Lucas Malia.

“Also, we have succeeded in building secondary schools with forms five and six which are Ruangwa, Mbekenyera, Nkowe, Lucas Malia and Hawa Mchopa, the sixth school in Mandawa will be completed soon,” he stressed.

Regarding the water sector, the Prime Minister said that all 90 villages of the district were drilled for water through the GAIN institution, but currently it is not enough.

However, he used the opportunity to inform them that the Government has provided 49 billion shillings for the construction of a water project from Nyangao which will benefit 34 villages of Ruangwa district and 29 villages of Nachingwea district.

Regarding electricity, he said that electricity has gone to every village and now the government is working to deliver electricity to the suburbs. Currently there is no village without electricity

Regarding the road, he said there is a challenge of the road reaching the village of Mtondo which is already in the construction plan.
