Football players to be registered in NSSF – President Karia

President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Mr. Wallace Karia has urged the clubs participating in the main league in Tanzania Mainland to enroll their players, coaches and staff in the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) so that they can benefit from the various benefits provided by the Fund including medical treatment.

Mr. Karia said this this week while opening a seminar for senior executives of clubs participating in the premier league, which was organized by the TFF, the Tanzania Mainland Premier League Board (TPBL) and the NSSF, held at Mafao House Ilala, Dar es Salaam.

He said there are many benefits for players and other football stakeholders to join and contribute to the NSSF, including getting bonuses and medical services for their dependents and that this will help them during the period when they do not have the strength to play football.

Mr. Karia has urged all clubs to take advantage of this beneficial opportunity for players and to direct more energy to enroll NSSF young players under the age of 20 so that when they retire from football they can benefit from the retirement pension provided by NSSF.

NSSF Admissions, Audit and Donations Manager, Mr. Cosmasi Sasi has said that according to the changes in the social security law, chapter 50 of 2018, NSSF is the only Fund given the responsibility of enrolling members in the official sector and the informal sector, including football players and all other entrepreneurs.

NSSF Temeke Regional Manager, Mr. Ferouz Mtika has thanked the League Board, TFF and football clubs for participating in the seminar aimed at getting social security education.
