Let’s not disrupt the 2025 General Elections – Ambassador Nchimbi

The Secretary General of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, has urged Tanzanians to be vigilant against politicians who try to jeopardize the justice, peace and stability of the country, with the October 2025 General Elections approaching in just five months.

Speaking to the people of Bunda on April 22, 2025, during his five-day visit to Mara region, Dr. Nchimbi said the election period is fraught with many temptations, including incitement to hatred, hostility and violence resulting from the statements or actions of some people, especially politicians.

“This year you will hear many words, even those who are not used to speaking will try to speak to stir up trouble and stir up violence. Tanzanians, let us reject such people. Let us not accept that our peace that has lasted since independence was played out within a few months before the elections,” he said.

Ambassador Nchimbi praised the people of Bunda for being people of work and development, saying: “If you come to the people of Bunda and talk about protests, they first ask if there is bread in the protests. The entire nation should think like that”.

He urged the people to ensure that they improve their information by registering in the Permanent Voters’ Register so that they can fully participate in the General Election.

On the issue of compensation for some Nyatwali residents who were displaced by animal crossings, Ambassador Nchimbi directed the Mara Regional Commissioner to collaborate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and the Ministry of Finance to ensure that the remaining are paid within 14 days.

“About 90 percent have been paid, only a few are left, and others are complaining about the level of compensation. I have spoken to the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, and I have been told that there is money in the treasury. I send my regards to Minister Mwigulu – let the money come out”, he said.

Ambassador Nchimbi’s visit includes the districts of Bunda, Rorya, Musoma, Tarime and Serengeti and also aims to review the implementation of the CCM Manifesto for 2020–2025.
