Deputy Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Energy, Dr. Khatibu Kazungu has led various leaders and citizens who turned out at the funeral of the former driver of the Executive Director of the Tanzania Electricity Corporation, TANESCO, Muhajiri Haule Mlandizi in the Coast Region.
The late Haule died along with the Executive Director of the Corporation in a car accident that occurred on April 13, 2025 in Bunda District, Mara Region.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary has described the late Haule as funny and loving but also due to his responsibility he was given the responsibility of being the driver of the Executive Directors of TANESCO.
“We as a Ministry have received the news of this tragedy with great sadness, I would like to use this opportunity on behalf of my leaders to extend our condolences to the family of the deceased. Muhajiri was a loving and humorous person so it is good to honor all the good things he did during his life”, explained Deputy Permanent Secretary Kazungu.
Some of the directors of TANESCO who passed away and worked with the deceased are, Dr. Tito Mwinuka and Mr. Maharage Chande have described the deceased as humble and responsive with the fear of God.
Among the leaders of the Institution who attended the funeral were the Director General of the Energy and Water Regulatory Authority EWURA, Mr. James Andulile as well as the UWAWATA pensioners’ association.
The late Muhajiri Haule started working at TANESCO in 1988 serving the Organization for 37 years but in 2024 he retired after being extended a special contract.
The late Haule is survived by his wife, four children and one grandchild.
