Dr. Mkoko said it is good for employers to fulfill their obligation to pay salaries and important benefits to Journalists as the government will provide them with a Certificate recognizing them as Journalists.

“We recognize that some media outlets are helpless in terms of economy due to the assessment conducted last year but I believe that through the JAB board something will be done”, said Dr. Mkoko.

Dr. Mkoko said it is good for journalists and media owners to cooperate with the board so that it can do its job more effectively since it has come to give respect to the journalism profession.

“I ask journalists to realize that this Board did not come to shut them down but to give respect to the journalism profession so that it can be recognized and respected like other professions,” said Dr. Mkoko.
