The government has said the football stadium to be built in Dodoma will cost more than Sh358 billion and will have the capacity to hold 32,000 people when completed.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports and Chief Government Spokesperson, Mr. Gerson Msigwa said this yesterday while handing over the construction site of the stadium to the Limonta SPA company from Italy which will build the stadium.
Mr. Msigwa made the handover by signing a contract with the Company’s Representative, Mr. Angelo Redolfi on March 26, 2025 in Nzuguni Ward in Dodoma, where the stadium will be built.
“This stadium will be handed over to us after 24 months and the Government will monitor this project closely so that it is up to standards and completed on time for use in the AFCON 2027 competition”, said, Mr. Msigwa.
