The establishment of the number follows an order issued by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, urging TANESCO to ensure that they have a toll-free number for customers to improve customer service and reduce unnecessary complaints and increase the number of phone recipients from the previous number to 150 in phases.
“I would like to assure you that the Sixth Phase Government led by President, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan is committed to ensuring that Tanzanians have reliable electricity and added that the Ministry of Energy will continue to manage TANESCO and other institutions under the Ministry to ensure that the electricity sub-sector thrives and brings development to Tanzanians”, said Mrs. Kapinga.
