MP Mavunde hands over vineyard to women

📍Mpunguzi, Dodoma: Dodoma Urban Constituency MP Mr. Anthony Mavunde has handed over the Grape Farm project to the Masokoni Women Traders (UWAWAMA) as a fulfillment of a promise he made.

Mr. Mavunde made the promise at the Masokoni Women Traders Forum during a meeting chaired by the UWT Chairman ‘Cde Mary Chatanda’ recently.

The handover took place on February 20, 2025 in the Mpunguzi area, Dodoma and was attended by various leaders including UWAWAMA members.

Mr. Mavunde said President, Dr. Samia Hassan has done a great job of building and improving market infrastructure in Dodoma City, a task that has stimulated business growth and increased income for small traders.

He continued to say that the Grape Farm Project will increase income and fill the pockets of small traders.

He said he believes that the farm project will be a catalyst for economic growth and income for Umoja and increase productivity in their businesses and will ensure that they get a reliable market for their produce.

He said that this project should be a pillar of unity, love and solidarity and should not be a source of loss of unity and allow division that can have a major impact on the well-being of the unity.

UWAWAMA Chairperson, Mrs. Anna James Mwita has thanked MP Mavunde for the way he cares about women and uplifts them economically and promised to work together to maintain and develop the project so that it brings productivity to women in the markets in line with the good use of Tsh 10 million which was also handed over for the purpose of replenishing the Umoja fund.
