Media should not trust AI 100 percent

Dodoma: Media and its writers have been asked to stop trusting AI technology 100 percent because in order to avoid misleading the public, especially in this period leading up to the General Election.

This observation was made at the annual conference of the media [ABC 2025] held at the News Generation hall in Dodoma on February 14, 2025 by the Executive Officer of the Nukta Company, Mr. Nuzulack Dausen, where he said that most of the AI information, especially images and videos, is false, so caution is required before using AI content.

Mr. Dausen urged the media before using AI content such as text, images or videos, it is necessary to verify it first before using it and there are many verification systems led by the Google Lens system.

“There are many systems for verifying AI content such as Google, TinEye, Bing and Yandex, all of these systems verify but differ in the answers”, said Mr. Dausen

However, he warned that in terms of content verification, the last person to verify is a human because you cannot verify an AI photo or video using AI, a human must be the last person.

He mentioned some of the things to check after downloading from the internet, such as skin, body contours, background and hair, which AI fails to create its reality.

He said that Tanzania is now heading towards the General Elections so it is good for the media to be careful so as not to mislead the society and he advised that the media must have a special policy on using AI.

Mr. Dausen said that AI developers are increasing their knowledge every day, it is better if attention increases every day, although AI should be used to simplify work in our workplaces.

The conference is organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports under the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority [TCRA].
