Dodoma: The Independent National Electoral Commission of Tanzania [INEC] has said that any voter can now amend their information online.
Presenting a topic at the annual media conference in the country 2025, which is ongoing at the New Generation Hall in Dodoma, Assistant Director, Legal Services Division, Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC], Mr. Cyprian Mbugano said they have launched the service to reduce inconvenience to citizens.
He said that voters will now be able to amend their information online by opening the INEC website and going to a special section that has been designated for updating the Voters’ Register.

Mr. Mbugano said that the information that a voter can amend through the system is names, age, moving region, constituency or ward.
Other information is to add or remove information about marriage or being married and other information that the voter deems appropriate to change if it was previously incorrect.
Mr. Mbugano said that in order for a voter to be able to correct his information, he will need to have NIDA numbers and after correcting, he will need to go to the relevant centers so that he can take a photo and put his fingerprints and then collect his new card which has been updated online.
He said this exercise is only being carried out during the update of the Voters’ Register, and the voter can do so seven days before this exercise reaches his area.
INEC has asked journalists to provide education on the update of the Voters’ Register which will be concluded on March 23, this year for the Dar es Salaam region.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports under the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority [TCRA].
