Mauritanian President arrives in Tanzania to attend Energy Summit

The President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, His Excellency Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, has arrived in Dar es Salaam to participate in the African Heads of State Summit on Energy.

Upon his arrival at the Julius Nyerere International Airport, Mr. Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, who is also the Chairperson of the African Union, was received by the Deputy Minister in the President’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government, Mr. Festo Dugange, the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila, and other government leaders.

The African Heads of State Summit on Energy will be held in Dar es Salaam on January 27 and 28, 2025 at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Center.

The summit brings together African Heads of State, energy experts, private sector leaders and development partners to discuss strategies to address energy challenges and seize opportunities for the continent.

A key element of this meeting will be the adoption of the Dar es Salaam Declaration, which reaffirms the shared commitment of African leaders to ensure access to reliable, affordable and sustainable energy for the development of the African continent.
