The reception and preparations for the two-day summit on January 27 and 28, 2025 in Dar es Salaam of African heads of state to discuss energy issues are progressing well.
The Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila, told reporters while on a tour of key locations leading up to the summit that preparations are more than 90 percent complete.
Mr. Chalamila said earlier this week, January 20, 2024 after completing his tour of the Mwl. JK Nyerere International Airport inspecting roads and environmental sanitation to the Karimjee and JNICC International Conference Centers.
RC Chalamila said preparations are in the final stages and that the regional government is completing the installation of modern lighting to ensure that the city has adequate lighting.
He stressed the issue of cleanliness and beautification of the City, urging citizens to ensure that cleanliness is not done during this period of foreign travel but rather as a daily tradition.
He also called for the existence of tree and flower gardens so that the Region continues to be an attraction for various international conferences and investments.
He added that some roads will be closed to be used by Tanzanian businessmen and entrepreneurs to showcase various cultural products that identify Tanzania to the various countries participating in the conference.
RC Chalamila has placed emphasis on the issue of continuing to maintain peace and stability in the country so that Tanzania continues to be a center of peace and attracts investors.
He also said that the issue of vehicles parking on road reserves is a legal offense, so he has asked TANROAD to address this problem so that road reserves are not misused.
