MEMBERS of the Special General Conference of the Revolutionary Party (CCM), currently underway in Dodoma, have overwhelmingly elected Mr. Stephen Masato Wasira as the Vice Chairman of CCM in Mainland Tanzania, securing over 99% of the vote.
At the conference, 1921 votes were cast, of which 1917 were valid votes. There were 7 no votes, and 1910 yes votes, equivalent to 99.42%, with 4 votes being invalid.
This election places Mr. Wasira in an important position within the ruling party, where he will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the party’s activities on the Mainland.
Mr. Stephen Wasira, who is among the most senior and experienced leaders in Tanzanian politics, has served in various government positions, including as a Member of Parliament and Minister in the Fourth Phase Government.
In this position, Mr. Wasira is getting a chance to extend his influence within CCM, as the party continues with preparations for the upcoming elections and political strategies.
The ongoing General Assembly in Dodoma aims to discuss important issues regarding the future of the party and the appointment of Mr. Wasira is among the major events taking place at the assembly.
Currently, Mr. Wasira is becoming part of the CCM senior leadership, playing a key role in overseeing the party’s strategies and strengthening the relationship between CCM and the people of Mainland Tanzania.
