Simba secures CAF spot, wins 1-0 away

Simba has beaten Tunisia’s CS SFaxien 1-0, a victory that is enough to give the team three important points to put themselves on the right foot towards the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Away in Tunisia in the match played on January 5, 2025, Simba has won by the only goal and thus reached nine points and took control of Group A.

CS SFaxien with these results are at the bottom of the group with one point while Bravos of Angola is in second place and CS Constantine of Algeria is in third place with six points both on goal difference.

Ahoua scored the goal in the 33rd minute, the goal came from a long ball played by Che Malone Fondoh and found Leonel Ateba who passed it to Ahoua who filled the net with a beautiful right-footed shot.

Simba continued to chase SFaxien’s goal and five minutes later, Ateba connected with a pass to Elly Mpanzu whose shot resulted in a corner that was harmless to SFaxien.

In the second half, Simba’s momentum continued, in the 59th minute, Mpanzu ran with the ball and crossed but one of SFaxien’s defenders saved with a header and resulted in a corner after the ball went out of the team’s goal.

In the last 15 minutes, SFaxien playing without their fans on the field, increased their attacks on Simba’s goal with the aim of equalizing the score while Simba moved back to protect their goal, a plan that was successful as until 90 minutes were up, the result remained a victory for Simba.
