The Tanzania Revenue Authority [TRA] has managed to collect 8.741 Trillion Shillings during the second quarter of the 2024/25 financial year, equivalent to 104.63 percent.
A statement issued by TRA yesterday and circulated online said that the collections have exceeded the targets as the targets were to collect 8.354 Trillion Shillings. Last year, 7.342 Trillion Shillings were collected during the same period.
The statement continued to say that during the 2024/25 quarter, TRA has managed to collect 3.587 Trillion Shillings for the month of December alone.
It said that this amount has broken the record because it has never collected such a large amount. The last time it collected so much money was in December 2023, it managed to collect 3.050 Trillion Shillings.
