Rufiji: The management of the Tanzania Electricity Corporation (TANESCO) has visited the Julius Nyerere Dam Power Generation Project to see for themselves the speed of the progress of the construction and put stress on the managers to ensure that the installation of the remaining 4 machines is done as quickly as possible so that when the electricity is produced it can be fed into the National Grid .

Speaking during the visit, the Executive Director of the Agency, Engineer. Gissima Nyamo-Hanga has said that currently a total of 5 machines are 100 percent complete, ie machines number 9, 8, 7, 6 and 5 and have already started producing electricity.

“We have visited this project and seen the ongoing activities and put an emphasis on good management for the areas that have not yet been completed where the overall implementation has reached 99.55 percent while the electricity production activities have started and an average of 1,175 megawatts generated from the five machines of this project have been entered into National grid”, said the Engineer. “I ask you to supervise properly to ensure that the working of the machine is good so that the electricity that continues to be produced when connected to the National Grid does not cause any challenges”, said Engineer Gissima.

He has thanked the Government of the sixth phase led by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan with the Ministry of Energy and all its leaders in a way that has always supported by providing funds and cooperation in managing the implementation of the project up to the current stage along with many other ongoing projects in the country.
