Those who change the use of project funds and pay allowances will be taken action – Dr. Grace

Deputy Secretary General, Office of the President-TAMISEMI (Health) Dr. Grace Magembe has said that the Government will take action against Council leaders who are found to be paying staff allowances by using funds allocated by the Government to purchase health products to improve the provision of basic health services in the country.

Dr. Magembe said this at the Saccos Castle Hall in Dar es Salaam, while opening a working meeting of stakeholders with the aim of discussing the improvement of AIDS services, Tuberculosis and integrated health services on December 16, 2024.

“I have gone through your councils and found out that the articles that were paying for health products have paid allowances, those are audit arguments so you will be taken action by the CAG, the Office of the President – TAMISEMI and the Ministry of Health,” Dr. Magembe has emphasized.

Dr. Magembe has encouraged the participants of the working session to consider the guidelines for the correct use of funds for health products and added that, if a leader or employee sees the need to change the use of funds for health products, it is better to wait for the time to change the use of funds (reallocation). arrive so that the changes are made according to the procedures.

“Regional pharmacists, regional laboratory experts and regional health coordinators who are here, it is clear that the exercise of changing the use of money if necessary is a responsibility that you should carry out during the period of changing the use of money (budget reallocation),” Dr. . Magembe has encouraged.

Speaking on behalf of the participants of the session, Dr. Kheri Kagya who is the Chief Medical Officer of Lindi Region has thanked the Deputy Secretary General Office of the President-TAMISEMI (Health) Dr. Grace Magembe for reminding them to consider the proper use of funds for health products in accordance with the existing guidelines and the government’s intention to allocate those funds to improve the provision of basic health services to citizens.

Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Chief Pharmacist, Mr. Daudi Msasi has said that the working session is specifically for discussing the importance of accurate data in making decisions, including discussing the issue of access to health products in the country without having a shortage that will affect the provision of basic health services to the people.

Assistant Director of Nutrition Services Office of the President-TAMISEMI, Mr. Luitfrid Peter Nnally said, the working session of coordinators and stakeholders involved in the implementation of AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria interventions has been held with the aim of sharing experiences, identifying the challenges of providing services for these interventions as well as setting sustainable strategies to provide better AIDS services , Tuberculosis and Malaria for citizens.
