Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences successfully obtains permits to start construction of the Mlonganzila college of medicine campus

Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences has said that it has completed obtaining three important permits to continue with the construction of the College, the MUHAS Cumpas Mlonganzila branch so that con struction will officially begin this month.

Speaking to the people of Kibamba, Mlonganzila, the Project Officer, Dr. Hussein Mohammed, mentioned the permits they obtained as a construction permit, a work site safety permit from OSHA and an environmental permit from NEMC.

He said that apart from obtaining permits, they have also succeeded in finding a contractor who will build the MUHAS Cumpas Mlonganzila branch after following all government procedures, including procurement procedures, announcing tenders and competing contractors where they have succeeded in finding a contractor who will be awarded the job, however, he did not mention his name, he said the project funds have been provided by the World Bank.

Speaking on social issues, another Project Officer, Dr. Emmy Metta said that social issues have been given great consideration in the project which will be implemented for two years so I ask for your cooperation so that the project, be a blessing instead of a nuisance.

“People of Mlonganzila Kibamba, I ask for your cooperation, we do not hear about the problems when the project is completed, there are children left without fathers, school children are spoiled, fathers do not return home after receiving wages, I think you have heard this elsewhere, we do not want it to happen here”, said Dr. Metta

Dr. Metta continued to say that in terms of employment with various skills, residents of Mlonganzila will be involved and given more priority, we have not forgotten the mamaleshe and they will be given priority so he urged them to seize the opportunities when they are announced.

Asking questions and contributing arguments, residents of Mlonganzila requested that the project benefit them by opening some local roads, employment, environment and security issues. All of the arguments were answered that they have been fully considered so they should not worry.
