Dar es Salaam: Vice President and Retired Prime Minister, Mzee John Malecela has urged members of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) to continue to have a patriotic spirit and dedicate themselves to the interests of the nation.
Speaking to CCM Secretary General, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi on December 05, 2024 when he visited him at his Upanga residence in Dar es Salaam, Malecela commended the party for continuing to demonstrate strong leadership under its Chairman, President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Malecela, who is also the Retired CCM Vice Chairman (Mainland), said the implementation of CCM’s election manifesto is progressing rapidly and has demonstrated the party’s true commitment to serving Tanzanians.
He said the achievements of President Dr. Samia, especially in the sectors of infrastructure development, health, and education, should be a catalyst for members to develop solidarity and strengthen the party’s leadership, which is built on solid foundations of serving the people.
“CCM members should be a good example of patriotism to others. This is our historical responsibility that we must respect in practice,” said Malecela
Ambassador Nchimbi thanked Mr. Malecela for his contribution of ideas and experience that continues to be a great treasure for the Party and the Government.
He said retired leaders like Malecela have been at the forefront of providing advice that helps strengthen the party’s performance in various fields.
“Your experience is a light for us, we continue to value your ideas which have been an important pillar for the party and the nation as a whole,” said Nchimbi.
During the conversation, Malecela also called on CCM members to develop solidarity and party values, emphasizing that this is one of the foundations of CCM’s success for more than 60 years since its establishment.
He urged the current CCM leaders to continue the good work they are doing while adhering to the principles of justice, transparency, and accountability.
He said the values of good leadership have been a major catalyst for the people’s trust in CCM.
“This is the time to work harder, to ensure that we continue to strengthen the development of our country while respecting the party’s main mission of serving the people,” concluded Malecela.
