Accountants in Africa are encouraged to develop and use technology

📌 Dr. Biteko Represents President Samia to Close the AAAG Meeting 📌 Africa Relies on Accountants to Benefit from its Wealth 📌 Emphasizes the Use of Technology for Accountants in Africa

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko has encouraged accountants in Africa to manage their profession fully in order to develop the importance and contribution to the growth of the global economy.

He said that, December 04, 2024 while representing the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan closing the Second Meeting of the Association of Chief Accountants of African Countries (AAAG) held at the Arusha International Conference Center (AICC).

“I want to ask the accountants to realize that your profession is important even if whatever happens in your workplace you will be blamed, so prevent the losses that may occur”, said Dr. Biteko.

He has asked them to manage their careers based on professional principles even if their decision may have costs.

“Manage your profession with great strength and tell the truth even if you are hated at the workplace in order to be effective, it is important to respect accountants so that they can give you the expected results”, he said

He continued to say that it is important for the accountants to increase their skills to keep up with the changes in technology.

He said that accountants should be good advisers to their leaders so that they can make the right decisions, while saying that AU depends on these professionals to help Africa benefit from its resources.

“OR it depends on you guys, Africa’s song is rich, it will remain in the books if we don’t take action,” said Dr. Biteko.

Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Hamad Chande has congratulated the Chairman of AAAG and the Chief Accountant of the Government of Tanzania for organizing a good meeting and asking accountants to consider the ethics of their work.

“In Africa we have the wealth of having people with great abilities in this accounting cadre and it is my belief that through this conference it will bring change in our countries.

The Chairman of the Association of Chief Accountants of African Countries who is also the Chief Accountant of the Government of Lesotho, Mr. Malehlohonolo Mahase has said that Africa is changing in terms of finance and development.
