The Prime Minister visits the victims of the Kariakoo Building accident

The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Kassim Majaliwa Kassim has visited 40 victims of the collapsed building accident in Kariakoo who have been admitted to Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) for examination and treatment.

Mr. Majaliwa has asked the relatives and friends whose relatives have been affected by the accident to remain calm while the service providers continue to attend to their relatives while the rescue forces continue their efforts to find other people who have not yet been rescued.

Executive Director of MNH, Prof. Mohamed Janabi has explained to the prime minister that after receiving the injured, the service providers performed appropriate tests on them and found out that they received injuries in various parts of the body.

He said the injured were given treatment and by 11 pm 35 out of 40 injured have been allowed to leave and 5 are still receiving treatment, 4 have been sent to the Muhimbili Bone Institute (MOI) for further treatment. The hospital has not received a single dead body.
