Deputy Minister of Social Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Mrs. Mwanaidi Khamis has given an opinion to the community to get rid of the use of dirty cooking fuels to protect their health.
Mrs.Khamis said this yesterday in Dodoma when encouraging citizens to abandon the use of dirty energy and start modern cooking using clean energy.
“Society should move to the use of clean cooking energy to protect health and diseases, the modern stoves we cook in are safe”, said Mrs. Thursday
She said women have been the biggest victims of the effects of the use of dirty energy, including respiratory and lung diseases.
She added that apart from the impact on humans, the use of dirty energy also causes damage to the environment due to the cutting of wood and charcoal.
She said other effects of dirty energy are environmental damage that causes changes in the country’s climate including the availability of unpredictable rains as well as affecting water sources that are also used in the production of electricity.
