Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko has said that by 2030, 300 million people on the African continent will be using electricity.
He said that the efforts being made to achieve that goal have led the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank (WB) to support Tanzania in various projects including the Clean Energy Agenda for cooking.
Biteko said this while speaking at the Forum for Discussions on Energy Issues for the African Continent at the Ministerial level held in Dar es Salaam for two days organized by the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with AfDB.
He said that AfDB has chosen Tanzania to hold the discussion meeting because Tanzania has made great strides in development and success in the Energy Sector compared to other African countries that cooperate with the bank and has become a role model for many countries in Africa.
