TARURA achieves goals due to monitoring

Zanzibar
It has been stated that a good monitoring and evaluation program has enabled the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) to achieve the goals they have set for themselves in carrying out the institution’s responsibility to build and maintain the District road network in the country.

Speaking at the Third National Conference of Monitoring Week, Evaluation and ongoing training at the Golden Tulip hotel, Zanzibar, TARURA Planning Manager, Mr. Justin Lyatuu has said that the way to know they have reached the goal they planned in their vision must involve monitoring and evaluation.

“Through monitoring, we do an assessment to see why we are not reaching the steps and if there is an obstacle, then we go back to see what the problem is and so we continue to measure so that the community can continue to access social services by using the road”, he said.

He said that the Conference increases their understanding because they, like TARURA, for road maintenance, their goal is to unite the people by passing on good roads.

Some of the participants of the conference, who have visited the TARURA pavilion, have congratulated the agency for the great work they are doing to open the roads of the district and thus help the people to rise economically as they can now transport their produce from one place to another.
