The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila conducts day and night visits to inspect roads and bridges damaged by rain to ensure that citizens pass through those areas as soon as possible.
While at the broken Mbopo Bridge, he found that urgent measures have been taken where the bridge itself is stable but the soil banks are the ones that have been removed and he ordered it to be built quickly so that it can be passed by all people to remove the inconvenience.
When Chalamila arrived at the Tanganyika Bridge, he found that the Bridge was affected due to the change in the river where people are doing Activities on the river, so the river changed its path and passed a different place from the Bridge, where he found the work in progress and got the assurance from the Manager of TARURA that within three days the people they will be passing by.
He has asked the owners of the houses that have encroached on the river, those in the valleys and those who are doing humanitarian activities on the rivers to immediately leave those areas because they are dangerous areas.
The Manager of TARURA Dar es Salaam Region, Engineer Geofrey Mkinga has accepted all orders and promised to work on them.
