Tanzania Assemblies of God (TAG) Mwenge Christian Center (MCC) through an event on the eve of the new year 2024 has given an Honorary Award to the Governor of Dar es Salaam Region Hon Albert Chalamila to recognize his contribution in maintaining and developing Tanzanian values especially in the Region .
Speaking while handing over the Award to the representative of the Regional Governor during the vigil, the Kijitonyama Ward Councilor, Dama Samora, the leading pastor of the church, Abdiel Meshack Mhini said that he has been following the manner in which the Regional Governor reprimands the bad behavior in our communities including the use of drugs, sex businesses through madangulos where the Regional Governor has been passing by himself to demolish madangulos.
“Those acts of maintaining and developing Tanzanian values that the regional head has been doing TAG Mwenge, we have seen to encourage him by giving him this award”, said Pastor Mhini.
Pastor Mhini in his letter said the Church has been collaborating with the Government led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan along with other stakeholders to build a Tanzanian society that respects the Constitution and the laws of the country to build and protect good values and make many pious.
He has said that the Church is going through various challenges when providing spiritual services for which he has asked the Government to provide solutions such as frequent power outages, the road infrastructure to reach the church is bad, also the bureaucracy of issuing permits in Government offices where the church needs a certain permit.
The representative of the Regional Commissioner, Dama Samora has congratulated them for the good preparation of the vigil and asked them to remove doubts in the challenges they are going through where he has assured them to deliver the letter they read to the Regional Commissioner as it is for implementation.
TAG Mwenge Church organized a special vigil to worship and pray for each person, the community and the Nation as a whole as a sign of saying goodbye to the year 2023 and welcoming the new year 2024.
