The governor of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila, has said that there will be a special campaign in some areas of Zingiziwa – Chanika to hunt down young people who are harming good citizens and looting their property known as “Panya Road” in order to maintain security and protect the people of those areas.
Listening to complaints in a public meeting he held yesterday in Singiziwa-Chanika, Dar es Salaam, he said ‘Panya Road’ should prepare themselves because there is a big problem coming, the aim is to keep those areas safe because they make people live in worry and those who are caught will be taken strict legal action.
“There will be a special operation that will go past some areas that we know are their homes, ‘Panya Road’, it once happened in Vingunguti, a gang we used to call ‘Panya Road’ when a senior was killed, his colleagues from Chanika went to make a mess in Vingunguti as to why their colleague had been killed, but thank God they sang the songs well, ” he said
Other concerns given to him are bad roads, schools, bad services, health centers, water, electricity, land conflicts and the guidance of the farmers’ market.
Other problems are social and family, such as the existence of violent actions faced by children and mothers, homosexuality and the influx of women who sell themselves in the brothels.
The citizens asked the Regional Commissioner to help them solve these problems because they have been struggling with them for a long time. Chalamila, after listening to the complaints, asked the authorities and relevant departments to answer them and provide them with solutions for each one.
The Head of Ilala District, Edward Mpogolo and some district leaders promised to continue to deal with and solve the problems quickly and those that need monitoring will do so.
Chalamila also asked the leaders to develop the habit of visiting their areas regularly to avoid problems becoming chronic and he urged parents to pay attention to the development of children to avoid a nation with young people and leaders who do not understand each other in the future.
