Emergency construction of the road from Kimara Mwisho to Bonyokwa to begin

The government has said that the contractor should start the construction of the “Kikwete High Way” road from Kimara Mwisho to Bonyokwa with a length of 7 Kilometers at asphalt level, in December this year.

This was said yesterday by the Minister of Construction, Innocent Bashungwa when he visited the areas of Kimara, especially the road from Kimara Mwisho to Bonyokwa and added that emergency construction should start immediately to help the people of the area due to the rain destroying the road.

“I direct the TANROAD manager to tap your emergency fund and find a contractor who is building this road while the people are sleeping,” said the Minister.

During the visit, Bashungwa was accompanied by the Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila who had the mission to see the challenges facing users in this rainy season which has brought great damage.

Citizens came out in large numbers to explain the problems and challenges they face, including the lack of health care, the fares of taxis and bodabodas going up, their businesses stalling and every questioner is given political answers instead of solutions.

Chalamila emphasized that the construction should start at the same time by instructing the manager of TANROADS to stay there to start work and by tomorrow evening he will go to inspect and take action if they do not follow the instructions given to them.

Also, RC Chalamila has asked them to use ‘molam’ to avoid slippage for users, it is important to restore communication between the two parties, the problems they are facing are serious and President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan still has many plans to provide funds to continue to solve long-term problems and those of short duration for the citizen.

And the member of parliament of the state of Ubungo Prof. Kitila Mkumbo said that when the people have a problem, they have the right to blame the leaders and ask them to be patient because the road has already entered the plan and the issue has reached parliament and is in the budget.

Bashungwa and RC Chalamila visited Kibamba county and inspected the construction of the road from Kibamba School to Mpiji Magohe with a length of 9.2 Kilometers of which 2 Kilometers will be completed while 1.5 Kilometers construction is ongoing.

They also arrived as far as Kiluvya to inspect the construction process of the expressway that is expected to reach Kibaha.
