The management of Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA) has said that this year’s Mwana Katavi Tourism Exhibition, live wildlife has been mentioned as a major attraction.
The wild animals that were the attraction were Lions, Leopards, Hyenas, Tortoises and Birds that stimulated the curiosity and understanding of primary and secondary school students who visited the TAWA pavilion.
The exhibition, held every year in the Katavi region, was officially opened on October 25, 2023 by the Katavi Regional Commissioner Mwanamvua Mrindoko and closed on October 31, this year, causing a large number of Katavi residents to flood the TAWA pavilion to get information, opportunities and benefits on the breeding of living Wildlife.
TAWA has used the exhibition to encourage domestic tourism by encouraging citizens to visit the tourist attractions in the Western Region, especially the Tabora Wildlife Park, also known as Tabora ZOO, which is located below TAWA.
TAWA has said that it will continue to make good use of exhibitions held in and outside the country to bid for tourism and investment opportunities in tourism in order to contribute to the Government’s goal of reaching the number of five million tourists by 2025.
