Msumi Bridge to start construction

The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila yesterday visited the Msumi and Mbopo Bridges that were affected by the rain, and gave fear to the residents of those areas that the government is at work and the main goal is to remove the citizens’ concerns, especially the infrastructure of roads and bridges.

RC Chalamila speaking to the people of Msumi, said that the rains that were falling, more than 13 bridges were affected and the government has continued to work day and night to return the affected areas to their original state where people can now pass.

He said the Msumi bridge, the government has intended to rebuild it and it is in the initial stages, but so that humanitarian activities can continue, he directed that an emergency road be built while the preparations to build a permanent bridge continue.

“Give an opinion to the citizens to immediately stop building in the valleys and watercourses and not to do humanitarian activities along the river banks” emphasized RC Chalamila

He also had time to listen to the people’s concerns to which he gave immediate answers and promised that next week he expects to make a big visit to all the Districts of the region where he will inspect projects and listen to the people’s concerns so that their government is ready to work.
