We still have many opportunities for tourism in Tanzania – Majaliwa

PRIME MINISTER, Mr. Kassim Majaliwa has said that there are still many opportunities in this country which, if used properly, can increase the number of domestic and foreign tourists.

He said yesterday while speaking to citizens who attended the TOURISM NIGHT event as part of the excitement of the Kizimkazi 2024 Festival held at the Dimbani Law Development Field, Kizimkazi, Zanzibar.

He said that by using the opportunities of culture, animals and beach tourism, Tanzania can increase the number of tourists to a large extent compared to the current situation.

“Here in Kizimkazi, we have a dolphin type fish that has all the qualities to enter tourism. Let’s continue to strengthen beach tourism and use Dolphins to stimulate tourism as our Cuban colleagues use them.”, he said.

Cuba is a small country but it receives a lot of tourists. They have teachers to teach these fish to dance with humans, they are taught to play music.

He went on to say that we in Tanzania have enough Dolphins, why don’t we copy from our colleagues?, let’s do this so that we can increase tourism opportunities.

He said that we still have more opportunities than these, but we have not been able to satisfy our market using domestic tourism, and we think that tourism is only for outsiders, something that is not right. But domestic tourism is another area that can increase the number of tourists in the country.

In order to continue promoting the festival, the Prime Minister has asked the Secretaries General of Ministries dealing with cultural issues on both sides to make sure they support the efforts of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan who is the founder of the festival along with the organizing committee so that the number of participants and visitors from abroad can increase.

“Advertisements and promotions should start six months before the festival so that people can prepare their budgets in advance and in that way we will increase the enthusiasm for participation in this festival. Relevant ministries and institutions should use social networks, websites, and media to increase motivation.” emphasized the Prime Minister
