Deputy Minister of Energy, Ms. This week, Judith Kapinga has handed over a car carrying electricity poles to the TANESCO Office in Mbinga District in Ruvuma region.
Handing over the car, Ms. Kapinga has said that the Government will continue to improve the interests, tools and working environment for TANESCO Employees to motivate them to continue working hard.
“There was a challenge to carry the poles to the work sites, the Government believes these vehicles will bring productivity and increase efficiency in work including providing services on time to customers”, said Kapinga.
Speaking about the challenge of power outages in Mbinga district, Ms. Kapinga has said that the Government has already put in place strategies to build a new power station that will improve the availability of electricity.
He said that the electricity receiving and cooling station will be built in the Grid Imara Phase II project and TANESCO will continue to improve the electricity infrastructure in the district while the construction of the electricity receiving and transmitting station is pending.
Ms. Kapinga has assured the people that the Ministry of Energy under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko will continue to improve service delivery and access to electricity in the country.
TANESCO Mbinga District Manager, Engineer Edward Kweka said they were facing the challenge of carrying poles due to the absence of a vehicle to carry the poles.
Engineer Kweka has said that the car will help them provide services efficiently and promised to take care of it.
TANESCO Mbinga District has a total of 37,925 customers and receives electricity from the National Grid of 33 kilowatts from the Songea cooling station.
