The Regional Commissioner of Dar es Salaam, Albert Chalamila has asked TANROAD and TARURA to work day and night in these rainy times so that before April 24, 2024 the roads will be passable and ordered all councils to provide funds that were put in the budget for TARURA to speed up the repair of all areas damaged by rain.
Chalamila said this yesterday when he visited and inspected areas affected by rain in Kigamboni District, Dar es Salaam.
During the visit, Chalamila inspected various infrastructures including the Kibada bridge where TANROAD is continuing with the maintenance of the bridge to restore communication that was cut due to the continuous rains.
Chalamila has scared the people following the continuous rains, where he said that Dar Es Salaam is safe, no road will be left unmade because all the roads will be made at different levels.
“Citizens should continue to take precautions, including moving to the valleys”, said Chalamila
He said that he has already started the operation to remove the openings to allow water to pass, including demolishing the walls that prevent water from passing.
